We are hiking through the forest, in one of the most beautiful areas of the Serra do Gerês. There are large oak trees, large cork-oaks, nordic pines and lots of birches. All with varying ages, from young to impressively old, it is a forest that is kept healthy.
It is an area where, unfortunately, uncontrolled and illegal fires have repeatedly happened. But it is still a beautiful wild area, with wolves and a very unique forest. Local people still manage it, in a healthy manner, with the "Vezeiras" of goats and cows.
As if in a tunnel, through the pine trees, a vision emerges of this magnificent cork oak, in the stage of yellow leaves.
