Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What is this FAQs page for?
A: It (a) provides answers to questions put to me, (b) contributes to knowing and better understanding the work in Alma Lux Photographia.
Q: Where is the Alma Lux Photographia studio?
R: There is no studio as the traditional shops, where you can find Alma Lux Photographia. There is no need for a physical space, nowadays, when the aim is to be open to the world, with a website that does work and the shop interface. Why buy a place or rent one, when the objective is delivering effort to the customer? Time will tell!
Q: Why don't you show information on aperture, exposure time, ISO, focal length and used lens?
A: Specially in the case of photographs on film, I dont have the objective of registering those, running the risk of not making used of valuable time. Time is fundamental for evaluating the object/framing/composition/lighting and make several photo attempts. Among these, only some will be chosen, along the workflow. For me, time is precious for analysing, seizing the moment, adjusting and clicking. The aim is making photography.
Q: Why are photographs shown so small or with the obvious watermark covering the whole of the larger photos?
A: This is so to protect the pictures from being copied or used with quality, without the authorisation of the author. We hope that, anyhow, this does not disturb too much those who what to watch the photos or know better the photographic work at Alma Lux Photographia. If you want to see a larger photo, just contact us.
Note, however, that the cover photos (which are special) may be seen in a larger size (by clicking on it).
Q: Why is there an ideal monitor resolution and size for viewing this site, and why isn't there a better font?
A: This site is to be as simple and flexible as possible. It should allow good access by as many types of monitors as possible, around the world, with best quality. Before any evolution for another generation of site (e.g., flash-type), Alma Lux Photographia maintains a simple face. In terms of traffic, the majority of monitors used for access are those for which the site has been optimised. For these, the font results best.
